On Lip Gloss and (G)Rape Culture
Hello all… Time to do one of those reactive posts where I put my thoughts down, because I’m feeling protective of a colleague (dare I call a coworker a friend? So dangerous these days). Yep, instead of vegging or cleaning or playing Skyrim (the most likely of the three) I’m instead putting down to virtual paper some thoughts about how things have played out today. I’m posting this to my own blog, but also throwing it on tumblr, because despite the shitstorm of hatred it will likely heap upon me — and yes, I may be a teensy bit blue in this one, sorry — there are wrongs being done here that need being called out.
The Situation:
Something occurred in the past 48 hours to a colleague of mine. One person took umbrage at the name of one of his products. Said person then encouraged a group of people to weigh in, things were said, and a bubbled up storm of misandry (synonym of misogyny, look it up).
D’awww.
Yes please. I’ll take five.
I want an army of them. I shall rule them with ‘nip and treats! And canned food! *cackle*

Hate to be so srs for a moment, but this is just something that’s bothered me for a few years now. I’m always a little worried at first about being myself because it’s pushed people I love away, I feel.
Feels a little good to get it out, even if it hurts. Bluh.
I’ll probably hide this later or something but for now it’s good to get out.
